What makes you UNIQUE?

Everyone has traits, characteristics that make them different- things that make them unique. As one leader in a class full of leaders, share three traits about you that makes you unique.

  1. Everything about me makes me unique. I know it sounds cliche, but it is true. Though I can go on and on about what makes me special or different rather, from anyone else, three traits to sum up my uniqueness are my love for children, my love for God, and my personality.

    1. I know exactly what you mean when you say everything about yourself makes you unique. I feel that my work ethic, my time management skills, and my passion for my major are much different then most of my friends. I work harder then each of them everyday and I know it pays off. It's definitely a great quality to be unique, it helps us stand out!

  3. If I had to choose only three traits that I believe make me unique and different they would be my passion for working and forwarding my career at all times, my constant quirky laugh and jokes (that really make no sense), and my passionate love for helping children. I have worked with children ever since middle school in so many different environments, and I look forward to continuing my experience with kids this semester in my service project.

  4. Three traits that I believe make me unique are my values that I've gained from having a relationship with God, my acknowledgment of the amazing family that I have, and my passion and perseverance to accomplish all of my wildest dreams. I have an amazing family and support system. They constantly push me to pursue everything I want in life. That contributes to the person and PERSONALITY that I am/have today.

  5. Three of the traits that make me unique are my work ethic, my skills with programming, and my drawing ability. I am a hard worker in and out of school. This is mostly because I have grown up with the idea that hard work should always be rewarded, and not doing anything will not get you anywhere. I am also good at computer programming, which is good since it is needed for my major. Lastly, I love to draw and am always trying to improve my drawing capabilities.

  6. I have many traits that make me a unique person and choosing a few to describe myself is difficult. If I had to pick three traits, then they would be my determination to strive for my goals regardless of how hopeless the journey might seem, my long-term memory, and my ability to see in the future through my dreams. In addition to these traits that briefly describe who I am, my family, my values, and my life experiences also contributes to the development of my personality.

  7. Loyalty, self-image, and patience. These are three traits that I find make me unique. I am terribly loyal. A mans word is all he has in the world, and I refuse to go back on mine. Self-image is another. I try to always look at bare minimum fully presentable. You never know a persons life, and I have seen people who one would swear have a great life, look good, and are always up to something, but in reality have little to eat, if even a meal at all. I would rather people see me in action, looking carefree, rather than hungry and poor if i was in such a circumstance. Lastly is my patience. I have an absurd amount of patience for all things.

    1. I am working on my patience. That truly does make you unique because now a days it seems as if nobody likes to wait for anything. I can't wait until I can develop my patience completely.

  8. Three traits that make me unique are my dedication, my ability to assess situations based on emotions, and my family oriented mindset. I am dedicated to everything I start and if I want to accomplish something I will do everything to achieve it. My ability to assess situation based on emotion might sound a little odd, but I am good at reading people’s emotions. The last one means that I am really close to my family and will always keep them in mind when I make certain choices.

  9. There are many qualities and traits that all make us unique, no two people in this world are exactly alike. My first trait I feel sets me apart from others is the connection I have with the environment. I love going to parks and being outside, and I also want to help save the environment from the horrors humanity has brought upon the Earth. The second characteristic that I feel makes me unique is the fact I truly try to be kind to everyone I meet. I was taught that my word is my bond and my name is something that cannot be replaced, this has kept me loyal to my commitments and promises which I believe is my third unique trait.

    1. I have always been nice to people, no matter what, upon meeting them. I try as you do to always be as kind as possible. I am also a strong believer that your word and name are all you have in this world, and it's refreshing to see other people with similar views.

  10. Each person in life is shaped by their experiences, their peers, and their beliefs. There are so many combinations of situations that make each individual person completely unique from the next. We may describe ourselves in common, relatable traits but we all have our own interpretations and definitions. Personally, I am a vibrant person who is always around to support my friends and family in any issue they are going through. I defend, protect, and support those I love no matter what, even if they are wrong, proving my loyalty as a person. And lastly, I am strong. As many curveballs that have been thrown my way, twists that I have been through, tears that I have shed, and tough decisions that I've had to make, I have gotten this far in life. I will go farther, grow stronger, and never give up.

  11. Individuals have many personal characteristics that define them and make up who they are. I am finding it difficult to think of three traits that make me unique. One would have to be that I prefer to listen rather than speak. I am not a shy person but I have always believed that you can learn a lot more by listening to others speak than always trying to add your own opinion to everything. Another trait would be that I greatly prefer the freedom of the outdoors to the cramped confinement of being indoors. A third thing that I can think of that might individualize me from a crowd is that I often make notes or lists to myself to serve as reminders.

  12. As many here have said, choosing three traits that separate you from the general populous is very difficult! I suppose an aspect of myself that relates to the major I have chosen to take on whilst in college (Character Animation) is a good place to start. I love to draw and write in my spare time and am currently putting together pieces to submit for portfolio review at the end of February. Where I am expressive through the arts, I am relatively quiet and shy in person. I like to observe and sort out my thoughts on something before speaking. Lastly, I am an only child and have a very close relationship with both of my parents, whom I am fortunate enough to be able to rely upon to be there for me during times both good and bad.

  13. Three things that make me unique are my laugh, my passion for others and my skills as a drummer. I feel that these qualities have been with me for most of my life and make up a major part of who I am today. I have been helping others for as long as I can remember and anything I can do to help someone else makes me very happy. I LOVE doing it. Of course, my laugh and performance abilites are great tools to help others. Nothing warms the heart like a smile and some music.

    1. These are all vey important things to have. I feel like a lot of times people lose sight of what's really important in life. Do what you love. Do what makes you happy. From there, everything else will almost certainly fall into place. The passion is evident in the other two things you mentioned. Laughter is critical. I can tell your skills as a drummer are great because it's something you love.

  14. To me, being unique is highly valued. We are all different, we all have different quirks and things we do that help distinguish us from the others around. Three unique things about me are my culture, my personality and my craftiness. I am culturally diverse by far. My personal culture is a mixture of Caribbean, Haitian, American, Black American and Pop Culture. This diversity transfers over to my music preferences, clothing styles and food preferences. My personality changes depending on who I am around meaning sometimes I am super obnoxious but I am a really reserved person. I am very artsy and I love working with my hands and I enjoy arts and crafts, painting and building things.

  15. Reflecting over the person I have become, I know I am a unique person. I went to five different elementary schools which has helped me to become easily adaptable. As I moved around so often, I was forced to make new friends, adapt to new climates, and become familiar with a whole new area on a map. I became a dancer at a young age and that was one thing I was able to always keep a constant. It didn't matter where my parents moved me to because I always had the security of a dance studio. Lastly, when I was younger I had a poem published in a book called My Florida Life. I am easily adaptable, I am a dancer, I am a published writer, and I am unique.

  16. Three traits that make me a unique person are my thoughtfulness, my open-mindedness, and my love for vinyl - old or new. When it comes to my friends or family, I like being the person they can come to for anything and not have any judgement. I am always the one to remember birthdays or ask about how their day is going and if there is anything I could do to help out in any way, shape, or form. I am a big lover of records - mainly because the sound is so raw and it showcases the quality of the music. I think it makes everything more real and I hope to expand my collection over the course of my lifetime.

    1. Devon,
You and I are quite alike when it comes to friends and family. They are my everything and I don't know what I would do without them. And while I may not know much about records, I sure love music! I don't think I have gone a day without hearing it.

  17. Three things that make me unique are my love of rational thinking, my ability/ desire to work hard, and my open-mindedness. I think that, at least, the first and last of these traits coincide nicely. While my immediate family has always made fun of me for a lack of empathy, I am very open-minded. I am receptive to others point of view though I may not always be able to put myself in their shoes. Rational thought has played a big part in my life and has led me to believe that it is the most important skill a human being can possess. Being able to think critically and come to my own conclusions is something I am very thankful for. Finally, I seem to almost have the desire to work hard. It might not be so much that I enjoy it, but I see the necessity of it to the point that I desire to work hard to achieve my goals.

  18. The characteristics that make me unique are my dtermination, my level-headedness, and my friendlyness. If i have something in my mind i am determined to do it. I can never leave a project unfinished, or not completed to the standard i expect of myself. While doing all of this I usually keep very calm. I dont get nervous often and am very calm in stress-ful situations. By being able to keep calm in situations, people often come to me for guidence. I am always willing to help people no matter if I have ever meet them or not and because of this I think it makes me a strong unique leader.

  19. After scrolling through and reading others' comments, I have found that my characteristics run quite parallel to the leaders in this particular class. So, in an attempt to relay uniqueness from my peers, I would say that my traits are 1) a persevering attitude in regards to injecting life with funk, 2) an ability to remain honest and true to myself and others, and 3) my desire to constantly bring people together, from family to friends and strangers to those who I may be leading. Concerning the idea of "injecting life with funk," I pull from the words of Toni Morrison, who believes people fight to rid their lives of the "funkiness of passion, the funkiness of nature, the funkiness of the wide range of human emotions." In other words, "they learn to behave." Following this, I work, rather I focus on BEING myself and never work to BE someone else. For the final characteristic, I draw motivation from former Bucs' head coach Raheem Morris, who constantly worked for those around him. By working for those around you, self-growth and self-evaluation can be much more beneficial. To truly lead, one must be SECOND.

  20. If I had to pick three traits that make me "unique," I would probably choose my motivation, personality, and my interests. Throughout my years in school. I was always a self motivated person when it came to my classes. Even though I had people pushing me to do well at home and in school, I always found the real motivation to come from my own want to do my absolute best. I had times when that wasn't enough, but thanks to my amazing family, I have been able to get through almost everything in my life with a smile on my face and some sort of feeling of satisfaction. My personality, I believe is somewhat unique. In some ways, I find myself just like any other 18 year old girl (yes I am 18), but there are certain traits that I believe are unique to my case. It is difficult to put into words exactly what I mean, but I feel my personality ranges the spectrum from an outgoing person to an introvert; usually depending on the situation. I feel the trait "personality" is a very broad description and I might narrow that down a little bit to describe it as my ability to adapt to the situation at hand. And last are my interests; I grew up playing golf, which most people would describe as the most boring sport to watch and also to play, but I love it and will most likely play it my entire life. Also, I am a girl gamer, I am aware that I am not as good as most players, but I enjoy playing video games, which I find to be something unique amongst people I have gotten to know. There are many other things I could mention, but I feel I am already rambling. I believe everyone is unique, but sometimes it may be difficult to describe exactly what makes you unique. I believe the traits I have listed make me unique, but they also help me to be the leader I am, and they are also the reason I joined this program in the first place.

  21. When we see the question, what makes us unique? It causes us to think for a bit... what does make me unique? But technically we all are unique, we all like to eat different foods, have different hobbies and are passionate about different things. We were born this way to affect our environment and people in multiple ways. Two characteristics that make me unique are , the compassion and commitment that I have when working with younger students. I love seeing them grow, which is why I make sure that I am present every time. I care about them so much that that I want them to succeed more than anything else. Another characteristic that makes me unique is that I stay dedicated, working at chickasaw elementary school last semester was great but I knew my work would not be finished in one semester, which is why I plan to continue it this semester as well. I strive to make a difference with these children and if I can get my students that need the reading help to be on reading level by the end of this year, it would make me a life-long impact on them.

  22. Federico Rincon: what makes me unique Is my parentage. The unique way my parents raised me an instilled in me their own values, like tenacity, the will to push beyond expectations, and responsibility. Furthermore, my upbringing in Colombia allowed me to see adversity in the face, and allows me to know what it is that I am fighting against, and gives me perspective when living here in the united states with all the riches and possibilities that come with living here

  23. I believe that my altruistic-ness makes me a unique person. There aren't too many people in the world that are selfless when it comes to a lot of things so I am proud of that. Other traits I possess are openmindedness and my personality.

  24. I want to say that my uniqueness comes from my personality. Overall I'm a pretty nice person, I always take into consideration on how my actions affect those around me. I have also been able to adjust my personality around different people, ensuring I can always make them laugh or smile. Striving for an art degree, my prowess in drawing and creative writing have also captivated my fellow classmates and close friends. On an athletic view, I have been intensely involved in soccer, marching band, and now capoeira (Brazilian dance martial arts) here at UCF. Last but certainly not least, my final unique quality is that I posses the ability to lick my elbow, a feat which i can almost assure most of you won't be able to perform.
